| Chocolate River Consulting
is based in beautiful Riverview, New Brunswick, just across the
river from Moncton.
The
name "Chocolate River" is a popular reference to the
Petitcodiac River which separates Riverview and Moncton.
Long an important travel route for first the Amerindian
inhabitants and later for the descendants of European
settlers, the Petitcodiac was also the source of economic
prosperity for the settlement of "The Bend", which
eventually became the City of Moncton.
|
The
origin of the name "Chocolate River", which no doubt comes to mind because of the brown color of the
river, can be attributed to historian E.W. Larracey, according
to his book of the same name. This brown color comes from
the sediment carried upstream from the Bay of Fundy by the
strongest tidal forces in the world.
